Jau sesto gadu aprīļa beigās tiek organizēta konference “Developments in Optics and Communications” (DOC). Konferenci kopīgi organizē Starptautiskās lietišķās optikas biedrības (SPIE) LU studentu nodaļa un Amerikas optikas biedrības Latvijas studentu nodaļa. Šajā gadā konference notiks paralēli ar starptautisko skolu “Laser Applications in Spectroscopy, Industry and Medicine”, kas tiek organizēta projekta “Laserlab Europe” ietvaros. Šajā skolā uzstāsies vairāki prominenti lektori, kas stāstīs gan par dažādiem lāzera pielietojumiem, gan par Eiropas zinātnieku sadarbības iespējām ES projektu ietvaros.

“Laserlab” skola notiks no 22. līdz 25. aprīlim LU Lāzeru centra (Zeļļu iela 8) un Cietvielu fizikas institūta (Ķengaraga iela 1) telpās. LU studentiem tajā ir iespējams piedalīties bez dalības maksas un iepriekšējas reģistrācijas.
